How do we fellowship?
Weekend Trips, Concerts, Sunday Meals, Video Scavenger Hunts, Guys/Girls Nights Out, Christmas Parties, and much more!
Reaching: We love to share!
Our focus is to learn how to continually share the gospel!
How do we reach?
We will have local mission projects which involved servant evangelism, witnessing classes and an annual mission trip specifically designed for college and career students to Nicaragua!
Educating: We love to grow!
We believe in studying the Bible and allowing its truth to be applied in our lives!
How do we educate?
You can expect on Sunday Mornings and Wednesday nights to dig into God’s word and see how fresh and alive God’s Word is for our lives today. We will also experience times together where we learn to grow closer to God through a worship retreat or conference. You can also expect to not sit on the sidelines at Second Baptist, as our goal is to get you immediately plugged in with a ministry, whether it is with kids, youth, or other college and career students.
Encouraging: We love to help!
We believe in having an attitude of Barnabas that stands up and encourages other believers.
How do we encourage?
You are going to have the times when you fall or stumble, but we want you to know that you have people that were there just like you and they are ready to lift you up and help you to keep living the Christian life!
Our class mission verse:
James 1:25, “But he who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and does not forget says but becomes a doer of what it says, he will be blessed in what he does.”
As we said, we truly believe that living the Christian life means that we live a FREE life!

Our church is a “Haven of Hope”:
Highway 22 W from Martin to Highway 51 S
Second Baptist Church is located in Union City, TN, which is only a 10 miles from Martin. We are called a “Haven of Hope” for two reasons. First, we want people to see our fellowship as a way of reaching out to those in our community that need to experience the hope of believing in Christ! Second, we understand the “church” to be an important part of growth and encouragement for us as believers, who are the body of Christ.
Whether it is through worship, ministries, or Bible studies, all of these can encourage you in your walk with Christ everyday! We want you to always know you are welcome at Second Baptist and may God bless your time at UTM and in your careers to follow!
