SBC STUDENTS MINISTRY

Here at SBC, our goal is to produce spiritually maturing teenagers. Through adult-led, Sunday morning Life Groups and Wednesday night worship and preaching services, students can build on their relationships with God and one another in a safe environment. Our Sunday nights are more fluid where we offer small group Bible studies, activities, or just gathering to hangout. Everything we do is directed to help our students grow and will equip them with the Truth of the Gospel to share with others.

When do we gather?

Here's when our students at SBC get together to worship and study.

Sunday Social (6–12th grades)

First Sunday of each month (6-12th grades) Sunday Social is a recent addition to our Student Ministry. Once a month during the school year, our students gather at different locations to hang out and fellowship with each other. The emphasis is to build community through different activities on the first Sunday of each month.

Wednesday Night Worship @ 6pm (6th-12th grades)

On Wednesday nights we come together for a night of incredible worship led by our youth praise band and the teaching of God's Word. These messages are designed to deepen, strengthen, and challenge our students to a greater understanding of who Jesus is and what their Kingdom purpose is in this life. Prior to our night starting, the students can purchase snacks and drinks from the Compassion Cafe while hanging out with friends and playing one of the many games in the Upper Room. All the proceeds from our café goes to support our Compassion International child, Dieula, who lives in Haiti.

Sunday Morning Life Groups @ 9:45am

Sunday morning Life Groups are a great way for students to connect, grow, and be challenged with other students their age through in depth Bible study. Led by a dedicated group of adult volunteers, our students can expect to discover community and biblical truths in their life groups.

UPPER ROOM

Our worship area, The Upper Room, is an awesome space that allows the students to relax, play games and have a good time prior to worship. It also features a café that serves coffee, cappuccino's, light snacks along with other refreshments. All proceeds from the café go towards supporting our Compassion International Child. The Upper Room is open early every Wednesday night and Sunday morning for fellowship prior to worship and Life Groups. We offer a live worship during the school year on Wednesday nights led by Tyler Sherwood and some of our very own students.

Trips

Every year, students at SBC spend time growing together and forming lasting relationships at our ministry retreats and trips. All of our trips are intentional in helping our students growing closer to Jesus and each other.

Winter Retreat
Winter Retreat

Winter Retreat is moving to February in 2025 in Gatlinburg, TN. This retreat has become a favorite for our students. While in Gatlinburg we all stay together in 1-2 cabins. We have three days of intense Bible study and small group sessions, along with nightly worship services that set the stage for the Holy Spirit to move.  We have seen God change many lives during our time in the mountains. This is a trip they do not want to miss.

Summer Camp
Summer Camp

Our summer camp trips have varied over the past few years. Beginning in 2024 we will be taking our middle school students back to Student Life in Cleveland, TN at Lee University. SL does an amazing job of putting together a great camp where students can grow and connect. Our high school students will be attending Global Youth Camp in Chatsworth, GA this year. Global is an incredible camp that will stretch our student’s faith. We are excited to see how God uses this time to grow our students in their walk with the Lord and see those who do not know Him, to be rescued by Him.
